General Information
Organs are not taken until the donor is deceased except for living donations.
Organs are never sold within the U.S. but you can donate to a specific person if you are a match.
Liver lobe donations result in fully regenerated livers in both the donor and reciepient.
TRANSPLANT OVERVIEW

Organs may include: Kidneys, Heart, Lungs, Liver, Pancreas and Intestines.**

Tissues may include: Corneas, Middle Ear, Skin, Heart Valves, Bone, Veins, Cartilage, Tendons, and Ligaments.**
- Living donations may include: Blood and Platelets (every 2 months), one Kidney, a lobe of a Lung or a Liver, part of the Pancreas or Intestines, extra Skin or Bone left from surgery, Amnion after childbirth, plus Stem Cells.
- Living Donation Requirements: Generaly to be between 18 & 60 years of age, physically fit, and never have had :high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, kidney or heart disease.**

A record 46,632 transplants were done in 2023. A Person is added to the list every 10 minutes.
Approximately 18 deaths per day are a result of low number of registered donors.
